Bruno Hamnell is a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in History of Ideas and Science from Lund University. His research interests lies in the intersection between modern intellectual history, philosophy of history, and cultural criticism. During the autumn of 2022, Bruno will be working at LUCK with a new postdoc project, “All is One: Holistic Knowledge Ideals and Conflicts from Romanticism to the Anthropocene”. It investigates how the concept ”holism” has migrated between scientific fields such as pedagogy, psychology, medicine, philosophy, and biology. The project focuses on the relation between the epistemic, the political, and the religious aspects of ”holism”, which has contributed to making it both appealing and controversial.
