Summer school

The Doctoral Summer School in the History of Knowledge, organized by the Lund Centre for Knowledge History (LUCK), has been held annually since 2020. This course, open to doctoral students and recent PhD graduates, focuses on the expanding field of knowledge history, involving the study of how knowledge is constructed, disseminated, and transformed across time and cultures. The syllabus covers key concepts and methodological approaches as well as a background to the field.

The summer school welcomes applicants who take interest in the history of knowledge, broadly understood. Participants engage in workshops, seminars on new literature in the field, and receive feedback on their research projects. The teachers at the summer school are all active researchers in the field, offering varied approaches to the history of knowledge. Starting from 2024, the summer school will be offered in English, opening it up to a global audience.

The summer school is held annually in mid-August. Participation in the summer school is free of charge; however, attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

Participation in the summer school is worth 5 ECTS credits.
