The Visiting Fellowship Programme
We award up to five short-term fellowships to international postdoctoral scholars to pursue research in the history of knowledge at the Lund Centre for the History of Knowledge (LUCK). We are particularly dedicated to support research with an ambition and a capacity to develop the history of knowledge as a field.
We invite scholars to join us at LUCK during a period of one week between 2 November and 6 November 2026. The scholars will have the opportunity to present their ongoing research and interact with the historians of knowledge at Lund. To be eligible to apply, applicants must not be currently affiliated with an academic institution in Sweden and must have obtained their doctoral degree within seven years prior to the application deadline.
The fellowship covers accommodation in Lund during a period of maximum seven days. The Visiting Fellowship Programme in the History of Knowledge is funded by the Åke Wiberg Foundation.
Application Procedure
The application is to be written in Swedish, Danish, Norwegian or English and contain the following:
- Curriculum vitae (maximum 1 pages).
- Personal letter (maximum 1 page).
- Project plan (maximum 2 pages) that describes a) how this research is connected to and can enrich one or several of LUCK’s four research focus areas (see https://newhistoryofknowledge.com/focus-areas/) and b) the specific research to be conducted during the stay at LUCK, or future research proposals within the history of knowledge that the candidate wishes to develop.
- A list (maximum 1 page) of the 10 most important publications.
No publications are to be submitted with the application. In a later stage of the process the applicant may be requested to submit some of the most important research publications.
The application should be sent to us no later than 1 June 2026. We expect to be able to announce the recipients of the short-term fellowships during June.
The applicant is responsible for ensuring the application is complete in accordance with the instructions above. Please send the documents as one pdf file to kajsa.weber@hist.lu.se at the latest on the closing date for applications.
