The scholarly yearbook History of Intellectual Culture (De Gruyter) was founded by Charlotte A. Lerg, Johan Östling and Jana Weiss in 2021. After working with the yearbook for several years, they have decided to gradually hand over the editorship to two editors: Isak Hammar and Swen Steinberg. They will join Lerg, Östling and Weiss as editors this spring and work together with Vol. 5. As of 2026 (Vol. 6), Hammar and Steinberg will take over as editors and possibly recruit a third new editor.
Isak Hammar is an Associate Professor of History and affiliated with the Lund Centre for the History of Knowledge (LUCK). He focuses mainly on the history of the humanities, not least publishing practices. Read more here: https://www.hist.lu.se/en/person/IsakHammar/
